I have Mediacom cable service, and I am trying to avoid “renting” there DVR. What would be a good brand of DVD recorder to use with cable. It would be nice to watch a show while recording on another channel, but my funds are limited, so that option is not a major selling point. Are they difficult to hook-up to a cable box/receiver? I noticed the cable to the TV is white instead of the traditional black and it looks a little thicker. Thanks in advance to all for your time and answers!
